Forget Latino Voters, Think Asian Voters

Sure the GOP could commit to the grand new project of losing all elections for all time by chasing Latino voters by legalizing illegal aliens and re-endorsing the welfare state… while still losing the Latino vote to the Democrats who are on both of those positions like flies on cartel beheaded corpses.

Or we could look at the fastest growing minority group in America who don’t need affirmative action or government jobs and who have low levels of teenage births and a hard core work ethic. Asian voters.

I was going to write this article, but Spengler wrote it first
Asian Americans are the highest-income, best-educated and fastest-growing racial group in the United States. They are more satisfied than the general public with their lives, finances and the direction of the country, and they place more value than other Americans do on marriage, parenthood, hard work and career success…
Asians recently passed Hispanics as the largest group of new immigrants to the United States.
Asians “also stand out for their strong emphasis on family,” the Pew study reported. “More than half (54%) say that having a successful marriage is one of the most important things in life; just 34% of all American adults agree. Two-thirds of Asian-American adults (67%) say that being a good parent is one of the most important things in life; just 50% of all adults agree.”
Spengler pushes the idea that Asians went Democrat over immigration, but there’s no real sign of that. Again the Democrats are better at working with immigrants through community groups.

Any immigrant group with high rates of unmarried teenage births and broken families is going to be a burden and a source of trouble and a Democratic voting base. Asian-Americans do not fit this pattern, but that doesn’t mean that they will vote Republican unless the work is put in.
