TEHRAN (FNA)- Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said that Egypt will never support the siege of the Gaza Strip again, adding that Egyptian delegations have recently paid several visits to Gaza to exercise President Mohammad Mursi's decree for putting an end to the Israeli blockade of the coastal enclave.

"Egypt will never have a hand in the siege of Gaza again and its support for an aggression against Gaza will be impossible as well," al-Youm al-Sabe news website quoted Haniyeh as saying.

He said several Egyptian delegations have recently visited his coastal
enclave in line with Mursi's policy on the necessity of ending the siege of Gaza and establishing permanent ties with Gazans.

The Palestinian prime minister once again reiterated his nation's
irrevocable stance against Israel, stressing that Palestinians will never ignore even a single span of their land "because this (Palestinian territories) is not the private property of anyone, rather it belongs to the Palestinian nation".

The siege of Gaza started in June 2007 when Israel imposed a blockade on the Gaza Strip. This was supported by the governments of Egypt and the US.

The blockade consists of a land blockade along Gaza's borders with Egypt and Israel and a sea blockade. It immediately followed the 2006-2007 economic sanctions against the Palestinian National Authority following the election of Hamas to the Palestinian government.

Hamas officials, including its former Politburo Chief Khalid Mashaal, have on many occasions stressed that the Israeli siege of Gaza can never make the Palestinians give up their cause and resistance.
